Dr. Christina Yap Belcher, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in California and New Mexico. She has her main office located in New Bern, North Carolina.
Dr. Yap Belcher earned an Associates Degree in Chemistry at the College of Southern Nevada and later attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas to go on to earn a Bachelors in Biotechnology. She spent several years in oncology pharmaceutical research when she decided to go to medical school.
Dr. Belcher earned her doctorate degree in Naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, San Diego and has published a few research papers (Goldenberg JZ, Yap C, Lytvyn L, et al. Probiotics for the prevention of Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea in adults and children. Cochrane
While traveling for oncology pharmaceutical research trip, Dr. Yap Belcher injured her back. She found her way to Naturopathic Medicine by personal experience and has navigated her way to a pain free life.
While Dr. Yap Belcher absolutely believes there is a time and place for conventional medication, her focus is on providing her patients with the least invasive natural treatment options that works for them, by using multiple modalities of medicine, such as Botanical Medicine and Physical Medicine. Dr. Belcher focuses on Women’s Health, Autoimmune Disorders, Adjunct Oncology Care and complex chronic diseases.

Dr. Yap Belcher has had extensive education in the field of science and medicine. She currently holds an Associates degree in Chemistry from Collage of Southern Nevada, as well as a Bachelor’s degree of science in Biology/ Biotechnology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Most importantly Dr. Yap Belcher holds a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University of San Diego, CA.
While attending medical school Dr. Yap Belcher spent many hours in clinical training giving her hands on experience from the start. This specialized training taught her to not only think like a scientist but also as a doctor, and learn the ins and outs of patient care. Like all licensed Naturopathic Doctors, she learned the importance of looking at the body as a whole when problem solving. Thinking of the body as a whole vs each individual organ and system allows Dr. Yap Belcher to help her patients find the root-cause of their ailments and maximize preventative care practices.
